With over 100 acres of land and extensive river frontage, Wahwahtaysee Resort offers something for everyone. Rest and relax in the luxurious safari tents, hike the property's many walking trails, pick pecans in the 150 year old pecan orchard, or explore the numerous private beaches on the aquamarine San Marcos River. For additional experiences, try one of the following:

Fly Fishing  & Kayaking  

Find your own fishing hole on the property, or book a private guided fly fishing trip with our partner,  Go Outside Expedition Company where you'll be picked up directly on the private beach at Wahwahtaysee Resort. GO provides half day and full day guided fly fishing float trips. All gear needed is provided including drinks on half days and lunch and drinks for full days.

Yoga Classes

We have relationships with leading yoga instructors who will teach private or group yoga classes on-site at Wahwahtaysee.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark

Schlitterbahn Waterpark is located 40 minutes from Wahwahtaysee Resort and makes for a great day-trip for families.

Private Chef and Yeti Dinners

We have partnered with a local private chef who specializes in gourmet farm-to-table style foods to provide private chef services to our guests. As much as possible, we source local and organic ingredients. You can work with the chef on a custom menu. Also, you can view our menu page to view the full menu selections including breakfast and Yeti dinners.

Head down the road to Moyesway Shooting Sports to enjoy their sporting clays for a day of shooting on the range.

World Famous Barbecue

Just 12 miles from Wahwahtaysee Resort is Lockhart, Texas, the Barbecue Capital of Texas. We highly recommend trying Kreuz Market, Smitty's Market, and Black's Barbecue. You can enjoy the barbecue in Lockhart, or bring it back to Wahwahtaysee to enjoy at your tent or on a riverside picnic! You cannot go wrong with selecting world famous barbecue.

Tubing

Create your own float on our property with 3/4 a mile of river frontage or head 5-10 minutes down the road to Amigos or Don’s Fish Camp for a 2-3 hour float.

Gruene, Texas

The town of Gruene is located approximately 30 miles from Wahwahtaysee Resort and is the perfect place to visit for the day. There is shopping, restaurants, and wine tasting. Gruene is most well known for the oldest dance hall in Texas, Gruene Hall, where you can enjoy a concert. We highly recommend the Gristmill Restaurant for your meal and a full day exploring this great town.

Sky Diving

Approximately 5 minutes from Wahwahtaysee is Skydive Spaceland San Marcos. Please see their website here.
